Our Approach


Through Atomic Alchemy’s VIPR(R) technology and Oklo’s expertise in fuel recycling, we’re developing processes to produce valuable medical radioisotopes. Using similar methods, we can recover unique radioisotopes from used reactor fuel during Oklo’s recycling process. After capturing these useful materials, only true nuclear waste remains, which we dispose of responsibly in low-level waste facilities or secure repositories.

Additionally, we’re working with the International Atomic Energy Agency and governments worldwide to safely collect and recycle old radium sources. Radium was originally used in early medical treatments and devices, though it has mostly been replaced by newer technology. By recycling this material, we’re able to provide companies with purified radium to help produce new cancer treatments.
